holy crepe!

It was Garage of Good day at the Pearl Market so naturally I got up bright and early to see what I could find among the eye candy of discounted clothes, shoes and furniture. We typically go to the Pearl every Saturday for the farmers market but I especially love Garage of Good Saturday's! It is always a good time and the $5 entry fee goes to a good cause.

Side Note: The weather outside today was like you were trapped in a plastic bag! YUCK! Where did this horrible humidity come from and when is it leaving?

As I made my way through Garage of Goods I really didn't find anything which was disappointing. I found  "b" some mini TOMS shoes (super cute) but the smallest size was a 4. She is barely a 2 so who knows how long it would be before those fit and I wasn't going to waste the money to find out! As we were about to exit the GOG, I noticed a big line forming for the food vendor Artisan Crepes. A crepe sounded great so I stood in line and tried to decide what to order. While in line one of the girls who runs the GOG stopped me to say that "b" was precious and compliment her outfit and asked where I had purchased it. When I told her: "I made it" she gasped and mentioned that if I could make more she would love for me to have a booth at the sale. I have never thought of selling the dresses I make but it could be worth looking into.

*** Coming soon: A post all about the cute dresses that I make for one special baby girl!

Back to the crepes! THEY WERE AMAZING! Since my husband and I could not decide what to get we ordered one savory and one sweet crepe! We shared the ham and cheese with tomato and spinach and the banana/ nutella. YUM! They were both equally good though I have to say the banana / nutella mix was my personal favorite! I see a how to make crepes lesson is in my near future! I could and would definitely try to make them on my own and the little one love them so it would make the effort worth it!

just perfect!

My little "b" is not the best sleeper. She has yet to sleep through the night and she is almost eight months old. She also only takes naps in my arms. For eight months I have been reading book after book, website after website looking for the magical cure to sleep. I have had friends that have used many different methods including but not limited to the "cry-it-out" method. I have tried the method myself and it is definitely NOT FOR ME!

After being so frustrated for so long about not getting enough sleep or thinking to myself: " If only I could put her in the crib at naptime, I could do so many things!" All of those thoughts STOPPED TODAY! I took a moment to just rest while in my usual napping position and saw that little face staring back at me. She looked so peaceful, so quiet and so happy! For just a second she smiled in her sleep as if to let me know she knew I was there with her and she loved it - and I did too! This one sleepy smile changed my thoughts on sleeping. How could I deny this perfect image of me and my husband (for those who know little "b," she looks exactly like her mama) this one thing? Where did I need to be? What did I really need to do that couldn't wait? Was it really that terrible to wake up at night to rock her back to sleep?

I looked at this little girl and decided from now on I'm cherishing each moment she needs me to hold her, anytime, anywhere! Who knows how long she will need me or want me to do this. She has grown so fast and before I know it this time will be a distant memory. So for now I will hold her tight, wake up anytime of night, and just stare at perfection - quiet and still at least twice a day. Ahhhh... just perfect!

I love you more than life b

here i go again...

I figured it was time to jump on the blog bandwagon phenomenon so here I go. Welcome to all things “b.” Since my life revolves around this letter, the title is somewhat perfect! It is here that I will share my stories of a first time mom, loving wife, cooking enthusiast, designer, and entrepreneur at heart! I will also share what it has been like to not have a full time job (other than mommy - hardest job in the world) in about ten years. So, welcome one and all to my crazy life. I hope you will enjoy every ride I take you on!
Oh, and I promise to have a cuter page once I figure out how to build it! Hurry up Michelle and help me! I'm graphically challenged!
